Des Moines has an amazing biking community with many shops, endless trails and events including the famous RAGBRAI. We will be visiting local shops and events, and bringing you reviews of unusual biking accessories and products (like the chainless bikes from Dynamic Bicycles).
Our main topics will include:
- Des Moines Biking Resources – from sites like Bike Iowa to brick-and-mortar places like the Des Moines Bike Collective, we plan to maintain a list of useful links to casual bikers wanting to learn more.
- Bike Stores – did you know about “Bike Store” that opened in Valley Junction earlier this year? Neither did we, until recently. If you have a favorite bike store, send us a note and tell us about it and why you like it.
- Repairs – most bike shops offer repairs and tune-ups, but there are also less-known places in town that can do the same at a much lower cost with a quicker turnaround. We will try to index all known places in the area to get some work done on a bike, including one service that will come to you.
